We're thrilled to share the excitement from our latest tree-planting adventure at Bishop Abraham Elementary School!
The AIRO Landscapes crew had an absolute blast visiting the Kindergarten students on May 30, 2025, to plant our sixth Kindergarten Tree.
The students were buzzing with curiosity as they learned about the Nootka Cypress tree, which was planted at the back of the school near the playground.
They even got to lend a hand (or a small spade) to plant some beautiful daylilies and strawberry plants around the tree.
Andrea Rowe, AIRO’s owner, told the students how trees and plants support Earth’s biodiversity and climate – as well as the role of roots, water, and soil play in keeping our ecosystem thriving.
She explained it all in a way that was easy for the Kindergarteners to understand, making the complex concepts fun and accessible (especially when she shared some fresh strawberries with the students).
“It's moments like these that remind us why we love what we do,” said Rowe.
“Seeing the wonder in the students' eyes as they connect with nature and learn about the importance of trees for our environment is truly special. And let's be honest, who doesn't love getting a little messy while doing something good for the planet?”
This year's tree is the whimsical Nootka Cypress, affectionately known as "The Wizard" due to its animated appearance.
A huge thank you to the staff and students at Bishop Abraham Elementary School for having us again this year.
“We're honoured to be a part of the students’ learning journey and can't wait to see the impact of our little tree-planting project grow,” said Rowe.
“We hope to continue inspiring more young minds to appreciate the importance of nature and sustainability.”
Stay tuned for more updates, and let's get planting!
